Everyone experiences underarm rash at some point when they shave their armpits. The rash can be really frustrating and embarrassing especially when you want to wear a sleeveless dress but cannot, because you wouldn’t want people to see the rash and wonder what is going on there.
Some over the counter ointments work but some people react to them and it worsens the rash. Hence the need to get home and natural remedies for the rash, to prevent or control them..
- BAKING SODA WITH WATER
Make a paste of baking soda with water and apply to the underarm rash , allow to sit in and dry, the baking soda dries out the rashes and prevents them from developing into blisters, It balances the pH levels which makes an inhospitable environment for the infection to grow. .Wash with warm water afterwards and pat to dry.
- COCONUT OIL
The healthy fats and vitamin E content present in extra virgin coconut oil moisturizes, soothes the itching and speeds up the healing. It reduces the friction that can worsen the infection.
Take 4 tablespoons of coconut oil, Using a cotton ball, apply the mixture on the underarm rashes. Let it sit for 10 – 15 minutes. Rinse with cool water and pat dry. Repeat the process two times in a day until the rash clears.
- LEMON JUICE
The antibacterial properties of lemon kill the bacteria causing underarm rashes. Apart from that, it also reduces the irritation and body odor.
Take a lemon slice and gently massage it on the underarms. After couple of minutes, leave the juice to dry completely. Rinse with water and pat dry with a soft towel. Repeat the process daily.
- ALOE VERA
The soothing properties of aloe vera reduce the irritation, pain and redness caused by armpit rash.
Apply aloe vera gel on the armpit rash. Leave it on to dry for few minutes. Rinse with cool water and pat dry. Repeat the process several times in a day.

Pure lemon juice is acidic, so mixing it with aloe vera may stop lemon from irritating the skin. It is okay to mix lemon juice with aloe vera.
